1. How much Surah the Quran contains:
a.124
b.109
c. 114
d. 220
Note:
The Quran contains 114 surahs, amoung which  Makki Surahs  86. and Madani Surahs 28. A common myth persists that the number of verses in the Quran is 6,666. In fact, the total number of verses in all chapters is 6,236, although this varies depending on how (or if) the Basmala appearing at the start of each chapter are counted.
2. The Nisab of Zakat in gold is:
a.18 Tolas
b. 24 Tolas
c. 7 ½ Tolas
d. 35 Tolas
NOTE:
Zakat is paid at almost a uniform rate of 2 1/2%. The minimum standard of surplus of wealth over which Zakat is charged is known as Nisab. It differs with different kinds of property. In case of silver it is 52 1/2 Tolas (634 grams), in case of gold it is 7 1/2 Tolas (88 grams). The Nisab for cash is the same as that of gold and silver.
The minimum prescribed limit on which Zakat becomes obligatory on silver is 52 1/2 Tolas (634 grams), and of gold 7 1/2 Tolas (88 grams) and is known as Nisab. Zakat on silver or gold items is one fortieth of its weight, i.e. 2 1/2%. Zakat on silver or gold is not calculated on its value but on its weight. However if one possesses some gold and some silver and neither of them is in the prescribed limit, then if their total cost is equal to the price of 634 grams. of silver, Zakat becomes due on it.
The Prophet (Pbuh) said: “On a land irrigated by rain water or by natural water channels or if the land is wet due to a nearby water channel, Ushr (i.e. one-tenth) is compulsory (as Zakat); and on the land irrigated by the well, half of an Ushr (i.e. one twentieth i.e. 5%) is compulsory (as Zakat on the yield of the land)”.
If the land is irrigated by artificial methods, one twentieth part (5%) of the yield is to be paid, if it is irrigated by rainfall, streams, rivers, fountains or by the inner moisture of the earth, i.e., by natural resources of water, then one tenth (Ushr) 10% is to be paid as Zakat. There is some difference of opinion whether Ushr is levied on all types of agricultural yield or on some particular types.
Zakat on Minerals and hidden wealth is one twentieth 5%. According to Imam Abu Hanifa, minerals are classified into three groups:
1. Gold, Silver, Brass, Bronze, Iron etc.
2. Crude Oil, etc.
3. Diamonds, precious stones etc.
Zakat on the first group only is Waajib (compulsory) and is to be paid at the time of acquiring. Here minimum period of one year in possession does not apply.

During and after the Battle of Yamamah in the days of the first Caliph, Abu Bakr RA, Zaid RA was the man chosen for the task of compiling the Qur'an in a book form, aided by `Umar ibn Al-Khattab RA. The story runs as follows:

During the Battle of Yamamah when a large number of the companions of the Prophet SAW (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who knew the Qur'an by heart were killed, `Umar ibn Al-Khattab RA expressed his great worry that some verses of the Qur'an known to some companions might be forgotten due to the death of those companions. So he suggested to Abu Bakr RA to have the Qur'an collected and compiled.

Abu Bakr RA was hesitant in the beginning, because as he said, "This is something not done by the Prophet SAW." However, he was later convinced of the necessity of the matter, because in the lifetime of the Prophet SAW there was no need for such an action, since the source and conveyor of the revelation was living amongst them.

it was kept with the Caliph Abu Bakr RA, then his successor `Umar RA, who entrusted it upon his death to his daughter Hafsah RA, a wife of Prophet Muhammad SAW(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who was also known for her knowledge of the Qur'an besides being one of the few literate people in the community.

It was the Caliph `Uthman ibn `Affan RA who had the honor of supervising the distribution of the "standard" version of the Qur'an during his reign. Again, the task was assigned to our hero Zaid ibn Thabit RA, aided by a number of reputable companions of the Prophet SAW.
later HAzrat Usman Bin Affan made the new copies of the compilation handed to Bibi Hafsa  were then distributed to every Muslim province with the orders that all other copies of the Qur’an, be they full or partial copies, were to be burnt and replaced by this original one. Since that day the Holy Qurán has remained in its original pristine form and will remain as such in the future by the Grace and Blessings of Allah Almighty.
